A man will serve time behind bars for a disturbing incident at a senior complex in Chesterfield County. 12 On Your Side reports Leon Sykes, Jr. was sentenced yesterday to 20 years for aggravated sexual battery and indecent exposure. The charge dates back to December when he was making a delivery at Bickford Senior Living Facility on Huguenot Road. Sykes entered a 92-year-old woman's room, inappropriately touched her and exposed himself.
The Federal Election Commission will allow Republican Congressman Bob Good to use campaign funds to pay for a recount of his Fifth District primary race. FEC commissioners decided yesterday there are no election laws that prevent using campaign money for recounts. Good needs to pay for the recount after losing the primary to state Senator John McGuire by less than 400 votes. The recount is set to begin next Thursday.

A referendum will appear on the ballot allowing residents to decide if a commercial casino resort should be built in the city. The $1.4 billion project, a partnership between Cordish Companies and Bruce Smith Enterprises, has been approved for the ballot by a Petersburg Circuit Court judge. If voters approve, the development will include a temporary casino, followed by a larger resort with a hotel, restaurants, pool, convention space, and more.
