Senator Tim Kaine is criticizing his Republican opponent for declining several opportunities to meet for debates and public forums. The Kaine campaign released a statement yesterday saying the Democratic senator was disappointed that Hung Cao [[ cow ]] has declined invitations to take part in a debate and an in-person forum scheduled for next month. Cao also declined an invitation for a debate at the Omni Homestead Resort scheduled for last month. The campaign said Kaine was not surprised by Cao's decision, noting that the Republican also skipped 12 of 13 candidate forums ahead of the GOP primary. Both candidates have agreed to a debate at Norfolk State University on October 2nd.
An invasive insect species is leaving Virginia communities in a bit of a sticky situation.Preview: Food Lion has issued a recall for several types of ground beef sold at one of its Virginia stores. The recall issued yesterday only affects customers of the Food Lion store on Hoadly Road in Manassas. The four types of ground beef recalled were prepared in the store on Sunday and have a sell-by date of August 20th. The company says the products may have been contaminated by a foreign material. Customers who purchased the products should return them to the store for a refund.
