The search is on in Henrico County for a wanted man considered armed and dangerous.Preview: A woman is in custody after a slow-speed chase in Hopewell. Maryland's Tonya Bell was arrested yesterday after a chase on I-295 North. Police say officers tried pulling her over because her car didn't have any tags, but she refused to stop. Officers gave chase as Bell never went much above 70 miles an hour. Police tried using their patrol cars to force her onto the shoulder, but she allegedly rammed two of the patrol cars. She's facing charges that include eluding, malicious wounding on a law enforcement officer and stolen tags. 12 On Your Side reports two officers suffered minor injuries.
The growth in gambling in Virginia has state lawmakers considering a new state agency to oversee regulation and enforcement. A General Assembly subcommittee looking into the idea met yesterday in Richmond. A consultant told panel members that a gaming commission should be established to consolidate gambling oversight statewide. The consultant also said that the Virginia Lottery should remain a separate agency under the proposal. The subcommittee is expected to make its recommendations on the proposal before the General Assembly returns to Richmond in January.
A new thrill ride is coming to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Officials with WildSide adventure park say the longest continuous zipline in the U.S. called the Mega Zip will debut next spring. It stretches over a mile long at five-thousand-771 feet with a vertical drop of more than a thousand feet.
