The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors is considering changes to the student code of conduct after pro-Palestinian protests that led to arrests earlier this year. The changes under consideration would expand the university's power to treat any act that violates the law as a student conduct violation. Virginia Tech has also moved to ban camping on campus grounds and prevent overnight use of university buildings. The new rules are seen as a reaction to protests that led to more than 80 arrests last spring. The board is set to meet today through Wednesday.

Ohio Senator JD Vance says Donald Trump would veto a federal abortion ban if re-elected. The nominee for Vice President was speaking with NBC News when he was asked whether Trump would block a nationwide abortion ban. Vance said "I think he would...he said that explicitly that he would." Back in early April, CNN reported that Trump said he would not put a federal ban in place and that abortion legislation should be left up to the individual states.
