A Suffolk man will spend 25 years in prison for abducting a UVA student last year. Robert Allen was sentenced yesterday in Charlottesville. Allen was arrested in October after attacking the student and forcing her into his truck. He crashed the vehicle a short time later, giving the student a chance to escape. He pled guilty to abduction and malicious wounding charges earlier this year.
A fire on a freight train in Fairfax County is under investigation. Firefighters were called to Lee Street in Burke yesterday afternoon after hundreds of wooden pallets on the CSX train caught fire. The fire was put out with foam and no injuries were reported. Several Virginia Railway Express routes were canceled yesterday afternoon due to the fire.

The financial advice website Cardrates.com recently surveyed over 780 employed Americans between the ages of 18 and 43 to get their feelings on money and happiness. It found about 56 percent of those surveyed said they would be content with a liquid net worth of over 200-thousand dollars. That's grown since 2010, when a Gallup survey found working Americans valued happiness at 75-thousand dollars.
