Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is sending his condolences to the parents of an Israeli man found dead in Gaza. Hersh Goldberg-Polin was taken hostage by Hamas last year at a music festival in southern Israel and his body was found by Israeli forces in a tunnel in the Gaza city of Rafah. The 23-year-old grew up in Richmond, and his abduction led to vigils and demands for action to secure his release. Governor Youngkin issued a statement yesterday saying he and his wife were "angered and heartbroken" by his death. The governor plans to issue an order to lower state flags to half-staff to honor Goldberg-Polin.

The $1.5 million dollar state grant will support the preparation of additional land for industrial use to attract new businesses and create jobs in the area. While the disc golf course won't be eliminated, WDBJ reports the six or seven holes will be relocated to make way for the new industrial lots. The county aims to have the land ready for construction by the end of 2025, with work expected to begin early next year.
