A 79-year-old pilot from Fredericksburg was seriously injured when his plane crashed in Fauquier [[Faw-KEER]] County on Thursday afternoon. The pilot attempted an emergency landing on Spring Mill Road, but his single-engine Cessna struck several trees. He was the only person on board and was airlifted to Fairfax Inova Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash, which left no one on the ground injured.
Election officials in Virginia Beach are working to correct a printing error for mail-in-ballots in local elections. The Voter Registrar Office was notified of the mistake regarding candidates for City Council in Districts 3 and 7 as well as school board candidates in District 4. The names were printed in the wrong order and sent to around 74-hundred homes. Election officials are in the process of working to mail the corrected ballots by September 21st.
