Authorities in Virginia Beach say a body was recovered from the ocean last night during a search for two missing swimmers. The body was seen floating in the water near 14th Street and was pulled from the surf just after 8 p.m. Officials did not say if the body recovered belonged to one of the two missing swimmers. Searchers have been looking for the two 22-year-old men from Chesapeake since they went missing on Saturday night.
Kings Dominion is trying to put to rest some rumors about a recent incident. Park officials issued a statement yesterday after a fight Saturday involving about 300 people. Kings Dominion says it was a minor physical altercation that was quickly halted by security and no weapons were used or found. The Hanover County Sheriff's Office also shot down rumors that circulated online. Deputies say no one was stabbed, and there were no confirmed reports of firearms.
