A bicycle rider is in the hospital after a crash in Fairfax County. Police were called to the intersection of West Ox Road and Tilton Valley Drive in Chantilly just before 1 p.m. yesterday. Investigators say the unidentified bicyclist had life-threatening injuries. The driver who hit the bike rider stayed at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with police.

Dominion Energy has about 400 employees who arrived in Florida yesterday to help restore power. They'll have their hands full. At one point this morning, the state had about three million power outages. A company spokesperson tells CBS 6 Dominion and its utility partners are all in this together.
Arlington County wants to increase the number of trees on local school campuses. The county plans to plant 100 new trees at various schools during the current school year. The county says the trees will enhance the health and well-being of students while improving educational outcomes. The effort will also move the county closer to its goal of having a tree canopy that covers 40-percent of its land.
