Virginia Senator Tim Kaine is responding to criticism of his appearance on "Saturday Night Live" by his Republican opponent. Kaine appeared in a sketch on the long-running NBC comedy show on Saturday, making fun of being forgotten as Hillary Clinton's Democratic running mate in 2016. Republican Senate candidate Hung Cao [[ cow ]] criticized Kaine for being a "human punch-line" while Cao was making campaign appearances around the state. Kaine fired back yesterday in Fredericksburg, saying Cao has ignored and insulted Virginia during his campaign while the senator made over 220 event appearances. Some recent polling shows Kaine with a nine-point lead over Cao.
