An explosion at a church in Bedford County thankfully did not result in any reported injuries.Preview: Animal Welfare League of Arlington is looking for temporary homes for its shelter residents over the next few weeks. The organization is planning renovations on sections of its building and wants to get the animals away from the noise and other stresses caused by construction. Students attending Arlington Community High School may be spending the `26-`27 school year on Amazon's HQ-2 campus. The e-commerce giant had promised to provide a permanent home for the school in its Pen Place building, but the second phase of the HQ-2 project has been placed on hold indefinitely. Instead, Amazon is offering the school space in one of its two towers at Met Park and is willing to cover the build-out. ACHS is a competency-based school that offers day and night classes to students who have full-time jobs or other commitments that require a flexible schedule.
Virginia Beach officials will soon be voting on whether or not to start charging patients for ambulance services. Currently, the city covers those costs but, due to rising inflation, it may become necessary, according to EMS Chief Jason Stroud. Council is expected to make a decision during their meeting today/Tuesday.
