Many people are still in the dark in Central Virginia. Dominion Energy is reporting thousands of power outages this morning. Richmond had over 700 at last report. Henrico County had over a thousand. Hundreds of outages were also reported in Chesterfield, Hanover and Powhatan counties. At one point yesterday, Dominion was reporting over 100-thousand outages. Statewide, PowerOutage.us was reporting over 60-thousand outages this morning.

A Richmond woman is leading an effort to help kids facing tough times. Donna Reynolds' nine-year-old son, Kellan, died five years ago from a rare disease. She started Kellan's Legacy of Love to collect toys to give to kids in the hospital. Reynolds says toys can bring kids joy and laughter at a time when they need it, and parents feel comforted knowing someone thought of their child. When she started collecting toys five years ago, she got 500, but this year, she's hoping for a lot more. Reynolds tells 8News she wants to collect enough toys to help 25-hundred children not be scared in the hospital, be entertained and feel love. You can find out how to help by visiting KellansLegacyOfLove.org.
