A retail marijuana sales bill passes in the Virginia Senate.Preview: Virginia's lieutenant governor was forced to miss yesterday's session of the General Assembly due to illness. Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears left the Senate chamber yesterday because of an unexpected foodborne illness. A spokesperson said Earle-Sears left early to seek medical advice. The lieutenant governor is the tiebreaking vote in the closely divided state Senate.
Two employees of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have reportedly been arrested for leaking a video of last Wednesday's deadly mid-air collision over the Potomac River. The MWAA says the employees illegally copied the video and then gave it to CNN. Two Maryland men were arrested and charged with computer trespass. Both men have been released from custody pending further court hearings.
The Richmond SPCA is giving you a chance to show your dog some love. The organization is holding a dog kissing booth tomorrow. You and your dog can get your picture taken. The SPCA is asking for a ten dollar donation for pets in need. Also, Papa Johns will pass out certificates for a heart-shaped pizza with some of the proceeds going to the SPCA.
