Two Richmond families strongly oppose a plea deal reached with the driver in a deadly crash. Henrico County's Campbell Fortune reached a plea deal last month that comes with a maximum one-year sentence. He'll be sentenced next month. Fortune was driving the car when it hit a tree in West Virginia two years ago. Richmond's Luke Fergusson and Henrico County's Nicholas Troutman were killed. Both were 19. Their families say the plea deal diminishes the gravity of this tragedy and is unfathomable.

An effort is underway to make sure Henrico County continues to get a dose of March Madness. The Henrico Sports and Events Center and Richmond Regional Tourism want the A-10 women's basketball tournament to stay a few more years. The conference's contract runs out after the 2026 season, but the two agencies want to extend the deal to 2029. Dennis Bickmeier is the Henrico Sports and Events Center executive director. He says the tournament generated over a million dollars for the local economy last year. Bickmeier tells 12 On Your Side he expects A-10 officials to make a decision in the next couple months.
