A jury has convicted a man of planning to carry out a mass shooting at a northern Virginia church. Rui Jiang of Falls Church was found guilty yesterday of trying to obstruct the free exercise of religious beliefs. Investigators say Jiang began posting threats against the Park Valley Church in Haymarket in 2023. He then went to the church armed with a handgun and ammunition and was arrested by police. Jiang will return to court in June for his sentencing hearing.
Richmond's mayor is, in his words, bummed by the resignation of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Traci DeShazor. She is the second high-ranking official put in place by former Mayor Levar Stoney to resign after January's water crisis.
