A teenager is dead after a shooting in Chesterfield County. It happened yesterday in the Chester area on Broadwater Way. Police say a 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital where he passed away. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.

A judge sentenced 64-year-old Daphne Jenkins to 18 months in prison yesterday in federal court in Boston. Jenkins was arrested and charged last year for allegedly signing nearly eight-million dollars worth of unnecessary medical equipment orders between 2018 and 2020. She pled guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud in November. She's been ordered to pay nearly four-million dollars in restitution and serve two years of supervised release after she is released from prison.
Henry County Public Schools are facing a continuing shortage of bus drivers. Currently, 12 positions remain unfilled despite the school division implementing pay raises and incentives to attract and retain drivers, with plans for a 5% raise in the upcoming fiscal year pending approval. The Cardinal News reports efforts to address the shortage include referral bonuses, training incentives, and participation in job fairs to attract new drivers. Despite the challenges, Henry County is committed to keeping transportation services in-house and values the contributions of its bus drivers.
