The deadly collision happened Friday afternoon in Berryville, a town near the West Virginia border in Clarke County. Reports indicate the six-year-old was riding her bicycle when she was hit by a vehicle backing out of a driveway. The girl died at the scene, while the 68-year-old driver was unhurt.
Police in Greensville County, Virginia found nearly two million dollars in cocaine during a traffic stop. Authorities arrested two Florida men who were pulled over in a car on I-95 Wednesday. Twenty kilos of cocaine estimated to be worth nearly two-million dollars were found in the vehicle. The two men were charged with possession and intent to distribute narcotics.
Chesterfield County is taking part in a new program to increase what they call affordable housing. Clover Hill District Supervisor Jessica Scheider told WRIC that county will work for 12-weeks to develop land, evaluate the land and identify finance solutions. It's a program called Counts For Housing Solutions, which helps counties implement ideas to develop affordable housing.
