A couple people are on the road to recovery thanks to first responders from Chesterfield County. The county's Fire and EMS Med-flight crew took part in two rescues this week. The more recent one took place Tuesday in George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. A teenage hiker hurt her leg and had to be airlifted to the hospital. The day before, on Monday, another hiker had to be rescued from Shenandoah National Park. Chief Flight Paramedic Greg Jones expects his crew will be needed more as the weather improves. He tells CBS 6 people that have been cooped up all winter are eager to get outdoors, but with that comes potential risks and hazards.

The Federal Aviation Administration is offering more support and oversight to air traffic controllers at Reagan National Airport. The Critical Incident Stress Management team will be meeting with airport personnel sometime early this month. The FAA is also reviewing the arrival rate at the airport and will conduct regular wellness checks. Yesterday's announcement came just days after a Reagan National air traffic controller was arrested following an alleged fight in the control tower. Air traffic operations have been under scrutiny since a late January mid-air collision that killed 67 people.
