The Bedford Humane Society celebrated the groundbreaking of their new Adoption Center after 21 years of planning and support. The center will include a training area, grooming stations, and more to help animals find new homes. WDBJ reports the society has successfully placed around 900 animals in the past six years, with half rescued from the Bedford County Animal Shelter. Construction of the Adoption Center began in March 2025 and is expected to be completed in Spring 2026.  
 
 
Women may have better hearing than men, a new study finds. The study, published recently in the journal Scientific Reports, looked at people in different countries around the world. It found that in general, women have more sensitive hearing than men by a measure of about two decibels.
