The United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is expanding services into an ajoining county after the closure of the United Way in that area. Thomas Cage explains.Preview: A memorial service for former University of Virginia President John Casteen will be held next week. The university will remember Casteen next Tuesday during an event at Old Cabell Hall. The public is invited and a live stream of the service will also be available. Casteen was UVA's seventh president and held the job from 1990 to 2010. He was 81-years-old when he died last month.
We're getting a blast of winter this morning. A Freeze Warning ended at 9:00 a.m. The National Weather Service was expecting temperatures to drop into the 20s overnight. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 50s.
Metallica are teaming up with the American Red Cross for blood drives on their spring tour. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' charity foundation All Within My Hands will host the drives at or near the venues where they will be performing. The first blood drive will run from April 14th through the 18th in Syracuse, New York. Fans who donate will receive a limited edition T-shirt. Metallica's North American tour will visit a dozen U.S. cities including stops in Virginia, wrapping up June 29th in Denver.
