Charges are pending after a high-speed pursuit and crash on Interstate 495 in Fairfax County. State troopers tried to pull over a vehicle on northbound I-495 near Braddock Road early yesterday because the driver was allegedly using a cellphone. A check of the license plates found the driver was wanted on warrants in Fairfax and Prince William counties. Troopers called off the chase because of the danger to the public, but the driver wound up crashing into other cars while trying to exit the interstate. Several people were treated for injuries following the crash.

The Harrisonburg Police Department is asking for help in locating missing teen Antonio Petty, last seen in Harrisonburg on May 10th. Richmond Animal Care and Control has a new pet adoption program. RACC launched its Foster to Furever program yesterday. It's designed to give potential dog owners a trial run before making a lifelong commitment. You'll be able to spend a week together to see if you and your furry friend are the perfect match. RACC Director Christie Chipps-Peters says adoptions are down, especially of adult dogs. She tells 12 On Your Side we literally have nothing else to lose.
