Some charges against a nursing facility in Chesterfield County are being dropped, but it may not be off the hook. Commonwealth's Attorney Gray Collins announced yesterday he has nolle [[no-lay]] prossed the charges against Colonial Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. That means the charges can be brought back later. Legal analyst Steve Benjamin thinks Collins' decision is a sign the federal government may have an interest in the case. He tells 12 On Your Side it's possible the feds could be investigating medical fraud or wire fraud against the facility.  
 
 
The Newport News-Williamsburg Airport is seeking taxpayer assistance to cover a $4 million shortfall for the 2026 fiscal year.

State police troopers will be taking part in a special effort to prevent crashes over the Memorial Day weekend. The state police are part of the nationwide Operation C.A.R.E. effort that begins Friday and runs through midnight on Monday. Drivers are being urged to slow down, pay attention, stay sober and fasten their seatbelts during the holiday weekend.  
 
 
A Richmond native is headed to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. NASCAR announced yesterday Ray Hendrick has been elected on the Pioneer Ballot as part of the Hall's Class of 2026. He was known as Mr. Modified, and he earned more than seven hundred victories in the modified and late model sportsman series between 1950 and '88. Hendrick was elected in his second year on the ballot. The induction ceremony will take place in January in Charlotte.
