The Gazette-Virginians reports the cooperative has lowered residential rates for members using 1,000 kilowatthours per month by $3.51, resulting in a yearly savings of $42.12. The reduction in costs is attributed to lower fuel prices for electricity generation and decreased power prices in the region.
Bicyclists are passing through Richmond in what one calls a very impactful experience. The BRAG Dream Team is riding bikes from Georgia to Maine, and they were in Richmond yesterday. The team is made up of young bicyclists who want to encourage other kids to enjoy outdoor activities. One 16-year-old says it's especially important for her as a Type One diabetic. Millions of travelers are on the move ahead of the 4th of July holiday. The TSA says it expects to screen over 30-million passengers through Monday July 8th. Triple-A predicts that a record 60-million people will be traveling by car over the holidays, which is nearly three-million more than last year.
