Some children in Richmond are asking city officials to make their streets safer. Kids from nine to twelve-years-old addressed the city council on Monday. They requested the city install speed bumps and crosswalks in Gilpin Court. The kids say they like to walk to a community garden in the neighborhood on St. Peter Street, but the roads to the park are dangerous for pedestrians. Third District Councilwoman Ann-Francis Lambert tells 12 On Your Side the city can do a study to find the best solution.
