Two Jordanian migrants charged with trying to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico in May were released from federal custody after posting bail, despite their illegal immigration status. Hasan Yousef Hamdan and Mohammad Khair Dabous were arrested for trespassing onto the military installation and handed over to ICE officers. The New York Post reports the men allegedly lied about being there to make a delivery and tried to drive onto the base before being stopped. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin and others pressured the Biden Administration to release the men's identities and criticized the federal government's handling of the incident, calling it a failure to secure the border. The men have court hearings scheduled for September.

Hunters for the Hungry in Bedford County collaborated with local groups to create canned venison stew to help feed families in need. Hunters for the Hungry Director Gary Arrington tells WFXR the stew provides a high-protein, low-fat meal that is essential for children's brain development and the elderly's bone health. The collaborative effort involved processing venison and vegetables to create ready-to-eat meals that can be quickly prepared by families fighting poverty. The canned stew, totaling around 1,100 cans, will be distributed to food pantries in the region to support those facing food insecurity.
