A Reston man has been charged with multiple felonies following an investigation into his activities around children. Fairfax County police began investigating 25-year-old Auturo Elmore-Adon after he was seen last month in a Reston grocery store following and taking pictures of a seven-year-old girl. A search of his phone found 400 images of child sexual abuse as well as videos of students secretly recorded at two Fairfax County elementary schools. Elmore-Adon was a contractor with the school system's afterschool programs between 2022 and 2023. He's been charged with two-dozen felonies, including sexual assault and unlawful filming and is currently being held without bond.
The mass shooting in Georgia will have an effect on some schools in the commonwealth.Preview: A search is underway to find the driver in a hit-and-run in Powhatan County. It happened Sunday on Anderson Highway where a pickup truck and an SUV collided. The pickup truck wound up going airborne, hitting a utility pole, flipping over and landing in the woods. The elderly driver is in the hospital. The SUV driver left the scene. Virginia State Police are asking the driver to turn themselves in. Troopers are also asking auto body shops to call them if they see an SUV that looks like it may have been involved in the crash.
Virginians interested in building and maintaining their own beehives may want to apply for an upcoming lottery. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is giving away equipment needed to build beehives, though it won't be providing the honey, bees or personal safety items needed to maintain them.
