Police in Manassas are searching for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a young girl while impersonating a police officer. The attempted abduction was reported early yesterday near the intersection of Quarry Road and Zebedee Street. The man grabbed the girl's arm and put her inside his vehicle on Clover Hill Road, then drove down several streets before she managed to escape. Police are looking for a man with black hair and a black beard driving a red Jeep SUV.
Dominion Energy is trying to win over residents who oppose a natural gas plant in Chesterfield County. The company hosted an open house yesterday at Hyatt Place Chester to discuss the project. A group called Friends of Chesterfield opposes the plant that's being called the Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center. Members are concerned the plant could release respiratory toxins that cause childhood asthma attacks. Two more public meetings are planned. The next one is set for Tuesday in North Chesterfield at Bellwood Community Center from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A company spokesman tells 12 On Your Side it's important for everybody's voice to be heard.
