A former NICU nurse that has been accused of child abuse is still licensed in the state of Virginia. Twenty-six-year-old Erin Strotman has been charged with fracturing limbs of a five-month-old baby in the NICU of Henrico Doctor's Hospital. Court documents say surveillance footage has captured Strotman allegedly putting pressure onto a baby's legs and pushing his legs backwards. Authorities were alerted to Strotman after several babies in the NICU appeared to have unexplainable fractures. Strotman's nursing license is currently active and doesn't expire until May 31st of 2026. She remains in custody.

The order says that any position that is vacant after Jan. 20th should not be filled. Officials with the VA Medical Center say they were forced to rescind several job offers out following news of the freeze. State lawmakers say they're hopeful the hiring freeze is only temporary and hiring will commence soon
