A teen in Appomattox County has been arrested for allegedly posting threats against a school online. The Appomattox County Sheriff's Office arrested the 16-year-old yesterday. They say they received information earlier in the week of a threat posted on the social media app TikTok by the teen. The teen has been charged with felony sending threats of death or bodily injury to a person. The teen is being held at Lynchburg Juvenile Detention Center.  
 
Multiple County's in Virginia have canceled classes, closed business and government offices due to icy roads or connected to lasting impacts of power outages within the state. WRIC has a list of those counties online and further updates on scheduling for the rest of the week.  
 
VDOT is warning drivers to stay off the roads as winter weather continues and roads freeze. Rebecca Hughes with more.

The state of Virginia will be receiving more than 46-million dollars in federal funding for Hurricane Helene recovery. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine made the announcement yesterday. They add the money will come from a disaster relief package recently passed. The money will help restore public infrastructure, homes, and businesses.
