The law requires a 90-day quiet period ahead of elections on the maintenance of voter rolls. An immigrant-rights group and the League of Women Voters filed the federal suit Monday. They claim the ongoing purging of voter rolls put immigrant citizens at risk of ineligibility in the coming election.
The Loudoun County School Board has voted to inform parents on safe gun storage. The board approved a resolution last night that will include an update in the student handbook on safe gun storage. Parents will also now be required to sign a form acknowledging the changes. Schools will also be required to notify parents about their legal obligations to protect students from accessing guns. The resolution cites research showing that safe gun storage can reduce the risk of gun injuries among children and adolescents by as much as 85-percent
