Arlington County has approved plans to transition empty office buildings into multi-use spaces. The county says it hopes to reduce barriers and make it easier for new projects to replace underused facilities. Arlington currently has more than 10.7 million-square-feet of vacant space along with an oversupply of offices. The new policy is part of the Commercial Market Resiliency Initiative to help the area deal with high vacancy rates and create spaces that work better for workforces.
