Fairfax County Public Schools say they're increasing their teacher retention rate.The district says they're now retaining more than 90-percent of their teachers. It marks the first time this has happened in four years. They also say special education retention rates are also improving. The Chief Human Resources Officer for the district says they still have between 45-hundred and five-thousand subs on staff, with about an 80 to 90-percent substitute teacher fill rate each day and week
Virginia Beach officials will soon be voting on whether or not to start charging patients for ambulance services. Rebecca Hughes explains.Preview: Gas prices in the state of Virginia are at their lowest levels in three years. Triple-A says the national average for a gallon of gas has hit a three-year low, making prices in Virginia below the national average. As of December 5th prices in the state averaged two-dollars-and-92-cents, down three cents from a week prior. Prices just a month ago averaged three-dollars a gallon. Fuel experts say of all the metro areas in the state, Hampton Roads has the lowest price average coming in at two-80.
