Commonwealth Fusion Systems announced yesterday they're planning to build a plant capable of adding 400 megawatts of power to the state's energy grid. The plant will be built in the James River Industrial Park and will mark the world's first ever grid-scale power plant. The development was made possible through an agreement with Dominion Energy. It hopes to start bringing power to Virginia homes in the early 2030s.
