Thomas Cage with more.Preview: Much of the state of Virginia is bracing for a winter storm expected to bring significant snow to the region. Forecasters say snowfall is expected to begin today, and become heavy at times making for unsafe travel. State officials have warned residents to stay home and avoid being out on roads. Much of the region will see about five to eight inches of snow. Some areas could see as much as eleven inches by tomorrow night. Several school districts have closed for today and could potentially stay closed the rest of the week.
