But if you miss filing by today, Virginia does have an automatic six-month filing extension allowing you to file by November 1st.
Public employees in Virginia Beach will not be allowed to negotiate with city leaders to determine future pay and benefits. The city council rejected a proposal to allow collective bargaining for more than seven-thousand employees yesterday. The measure died when Councilwoman Amelia Ross-Hammond abstained from voting, leading to a 5-5 tie. A spokesperson for the local fire and EMS union said its members were disappointed by the vote but promised to keep working until collective bargaining is approved.
