Centra Health in Lynchburg has a new tool for preventing strokes. The new tool is called Sevaro and it allows doctors to conduct remote assessments via Zoom for stroke patients. With a stroke occurring every 40 seconds in the U.S., the tool aims to provide timely care as minutes and seconds are crucial in stroke cases. Sevaro helps bridge the shortage of neurologists by enabling patients to be seen by doctors nationwide. Nurse Practitioner Beth Hundt tells WSLS Centra has already treated 30 patients using Sevaro since May, with two patients receiving emergency treatments.
