A University of Virginia student is suing the college over alleged antisemitism on campus. Undergraduate student Matan Goldstein says he has been the victim of harassment, abuse and retaliation on campus due to his Jewish faith and his dual American and Israeli citizenship. The lawsuit filed earlier this month accused UVA officials of not protecting students, and also accused two pro-Palestinian student groups of misconduct and antisemitism. UVA officials have declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Dollar Tree is laying off over 50 employees from its headquarters in Chesapeake. A spokesperson for Dollar Tree said Friday that they were laying off 54 associates as part of its recent "store portfolio optimization." The news comes two months after the retail chain said it would be closing 600 Family Dollar stores by the end of the year.
