A Stafford County teenager is facing charges for allegedly stealing a gun from the sheriff's office and making violent threats. The sheriff's office began investigating earlier this week after an online threat against a Brooke Point High School student was reported. During their investigation, they spotted a gun that had been stolen from a gun rack on a sheriff's office vehicle the week before. Deputies coordinated with school officials to arrest the 15-year-old. Investigators say the stolen weapon was recovered during a search of the teen's home.
Women's golf will be in the spotlight this weekend in in Gainesville. Professional golfers from the U.S. will take on a team of European women in the Solheim Cup. The matches are being held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club Saturday and Sunday.
