The head of Richmond Public Schools is taking steps to make sure the district complies with a new state law. Virginia is requiring schools to make sure students don't have access to cellphones. RPS Superintendent Jason Kamras says the new policy is a step in the right direction. The district has to be in compliance by January First. He tells 12 On Your Side he'll hold a listening session before making a formal presentation to the school board.

Busch Gardens is now requiring chaperones for youth during Howl-o-scream in response to recent violence. The Williamsburg attraction announced that those 15-years-old and younger will now be required to be chaperoned by an adult. This comes after a fight among a group of young people last weekend at Busch Gardens resulted in an 18-year-old being stabbed. The week before, police were called after an altercation broke out between two groups, mostly juveniles.
