Fairfax County police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that happened in the Woodlawn area. Investigators say a Chevy Suburban hit a woman and child at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Buckman Road on Wednesday night. Thirty-three-year-old Erica Tibbs of Alexandria died after being taken to the hospital. The child was in stable condition yesterday. The driver of the Suburban abandoned the vehicle after the crash and ran from the scene. Anyone with information should call the Fairfax County Police Department.
The President of Mexico is asking Google Maps not to change the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Thursday sent a letter to Google asking them to reconsider its decision to rename the gulf following President Trump's executive order. Google says it will only appear as the Gulf of America for those in the U.S. Everywhere else it will still appear as the Gulf of Mexico.
