There's hope that a recent event in Richmond will lead to more people becoming foster parents. United Methodist Family Services of Virginia held a yard sale and craft fair Saturday. UMFS official Joshua Lewis tells CBS6 the goal was to people interested in fostering some of the five thousand kids in foster care.  
 
 
An FCC commissioner is speaking out against Vice President Harris' surprise Saturday Night Live appearance. In a post on X, Commissioner Brendan Carr called the appearance "a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC's Equal Time rule." The Equal Time rule allows rival candidates to request equal air time. Carr said "The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct." SNL Executive Producer Lorne Michaels had previously said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that neither candidate would appear on the show because of election laws. It is unclear if the Harris campaign will face the consequences of breaking the nation's rules.
