A Virginia man is dead due to injuries suffered in a hunting accident. Lester Harvey was with a group of hunting partners in Lunenburg County when one of them shot a bear that was in a tree. The 58-year-old was around ten-feet-away from the tree when the bear fell and struck him on December 9th. The Department of Wildlife Resources says Harvey died on Friday, which came four-days after the accident.
The Save Jamestown Campaign received $1.5 million dollars in state funding to address flooding issues at the historic site. State Senator Ryan McDougle advocated for the allocation, which will be used for flood protection measures, according to The Daily Press. The goal is to safeguard Jamestown, the first permanent U.S. settlement, for future generations. McDougle emphasized the importance of protecting the site during a recent visit.
