A teacher is facing charges in Loudoun County for allegedly being drunk at work. Travis Jones was arrested at Park View High School in Sterling last Friday. A school resource officer initiated the arrest after being told that Jones might be under the influence. The case is still under investigation.
VCU Police have a new leader. Clarence T. Hunter was sworn in yesterday as the new police chief. He was recently the deputy chief at Virginia Union University. The Army veteran has been in law enforcement for about 35 years.
A recent study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that optimistic people tend to save more money over time. Researchers looked at survey responses from over 140-thousand people in the U.S., U.K. and 14 European countries measuring "dispositional optimism" and found that higher optimism was connected to more savings, even in lower income individuals. Researchers also found that the effect of optimism was greater among people with lower incomes.
