A Richmond family is displaced after a fire. The apartment Taquella Smith shares with her two daughters on Clarkson Road caught fire Tuesday night. Firefighters believe it started in one daughter's bedroom, but there's no word on a cause. No one was hurt. Smith tells 8News they were already not in a good situation, and now they have to start from scratch.

New information out about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported Maryland man championed by Democrats. Tennessee State Patrol records show before his most recent deportation, Abrego Garcia was pulled over in 2022 while driving a car belonging to a confessed human smuggler. Troopers say eight individuals were in the car, suspected victims of human trafficking due to lack of luggage. The New York Post reports the vehicle he was driving had been flagged by Homeland Security Investigations Baltimore as belonging to a target involved in human smuggling. The trooper let him go on a warning, citing driving on an expired license.
