Prosecutors want several journalists to testify when Naresh Bhatt goes on trial later this year. Bhatt was part of a brief hearing in Prince William County on Friday morning. The Commonwealth's Attorney asked the court for permission to summon out-of-state witnesses, including two local television reporters and a blogger from Pennsylvania. Defense attorneys did not oppose the motion and the judge granted the request. The Manassas Park man is accused of killing his wife last year and then disposing of her body in several different locations.
New data from Lending Tree shows a growing number of Americans are financing the purchase of their groceries. A survey of two-thousand consumers ages 18 to 79 found that half reported using credit to help cover the cost of food. Lending Tree said 25-percent of those surveyed said they used buy now, pay later loans to buy groceries. The survey also found a seven-percent increase in those who made late payments on a buy now, pay later loans in the last year.
