The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is issuing a warning after a woman was recently targeted by scammers. A caller pretending to be the woman's daughter said she was in a crash that injured a pregnant woman. The victim paid the scammers, which led them to call a second time to demand more money. A sheriff's deputy tried to set up a sting operation but was unable to catch the scammers. The sheriff's office says anyone who receives a similar call should hang up and then report it to law enforcement.
