VCU Medical Center is getting high marks. US News and World Report yesterday ranked the hospital as number one in Richmond and second in the state. Nationally, the hospital is third in adult specialties. Mattel is honoring basketball legend Sue Bird with her own Barbie doll. The toymaker announced Bird is the next person included in the Barbie Sports Role Model doll line. Mattel praised Bird for using her platform to champion women's equality and social justice as ways to inspire young girls. Bird won two NC-Double-A national titles, four WNBA championships and five Olympic gold medals during her playing career.
