Some Chesterfield County residents are at odds with Dominion Energy. A group called Friends of Chesterfield held a rally yesterday to protest the company's plans to build a gas power plant. The company is considering two locations for what it calls the Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center. Dominion says it needs the plant to meet rising demand, but the protesters say they're worried about pollution.
Weaker demand for battery-powered cars has left dealers with too much inventory, triggering deep discounts and better-lease offers. According CarGurus, four of the five vehicle models with the biggest reduction in list price over the first half of this year were electric. In some cases, electric models are cheaper than their combustion-engine equivalents. Consumers have sited range anxiety and a lack of publicly available chargers as major sticking points for their reluctance to buy an EV.
