The proposed road diet would start on Hull Street and stretch about four miles. Residents are encouraged to provide feedback through a survey that ends August 15th.
Roanoke nonprofit Huddle Up Moms launched a new program called Moms Under Pressure to help mothers monitor their health and prevent pregnancy complications. The program hopes to help address the lack of maternity care resources and professionals in Southwest Virginia. WDBJ reports by providing blood pressure monitoring kits to mothers, Huddle Up Moms hopes to tackle the ongoing crisis of maternal mortality rates rising in the state. The program plans to expand its services to reach more families in rural areas with limited resources.
