A Norfolk-based aircraft carrier has been named the best ship in the Atlantic Fleet. The USS Gerald R. Ford was named the winner of the Battenberg Cup yesterday. The award goes annually to the Navy ship that exhibits superior battle efficiency during a calendar year. The Ford was commissioned in 2017 and returned from its first full-scale deployment earlier this year.
